Ian DowieBOSS Iain Dowie suffered his worst defeat as a manager when his injury-hit Oldham side slumped for the second time in four days.

Yet for the opening 30 minutes Oldham had been in control with not even the slightest hint that the home side would run away with it.

A fuming Dowie said: "I hope it hurt the players because it did me. It was suicidal defending, madness. I don't like my teams to capitulate like that. All the goals could have been avoided and it just wasn't good enough."

Once Oldham had leaked the first goal to Lee Jones in the 32nd minute the rot set in.

The lively Carlos Edwards made it two four minutes before the break, and goals three and four came from Dennis Lawrence and substitute Mark Jones on 50 and 89 minutes.

On top of that, Wrexham missed a penalty through a fine save by keeper Les Pogliacomi from Lee Jones.

New Zealand striker Chris Killen had to quit the debacle with a hamstring injury.
