The
annual SEMA Show attracts automotive aftermarket companies with all kinds of new
products. When one of these companies wants to display their product, they
usually build a vehicle that will be the showcase of their products. Kinetik
Audio in Toledo, Ohio and Huntington Beach, California is a manufacturer of car
audio power products that allow your amplifiers the power they need without
draining your battery or demanding too much from your alternator. Kinetik owns
this 2005 Chrysler 300 and built it to showcase their products for the 2006 SEMA
Show. It has been dubbed the 300K after it's owner, Kinetik Audio.
Even
though Kinetik Audio deals with only car audio products, the look of the vehicle
is what attracts attention. To start, they took it to Todd Faulkner of 714
Motorsports in Westminster, California for the installation of a KW automotive coil over system
to bring the car a little lower to the pavement. Next they bolted up some
22-inch 1-off Lexani wheels wrapped in 265/35/R22 Lexani sport tires.
The stock
300 was already in great shape since it was a new car but the factory silver
would not be enough to attract spectators at the show. The body style was
modified with a Lexani body kit and spoiler. Also added was a Mopar grille, CDC
chrome molding, and a Mopar 300C chrome accent kit. The body was then prepared
for paint and the upper half was sprayed by Todd Faulkner with Alsa Shamrock green with
Alsa Lime Green Candy. Then it was finished off with Alsa
Slime Green pin striping. A pair of emblems from Iced Out Emz were added.
To add a little show and go performance, the 3.5L V6 was upgraded with an AirAid cold air intake
and a Gibson dual exhaust kit installed by Erik Harbour of Kinetik and Todd Faulkner
of 714 Motorsports.
On the
inside, the comfortable cabin of this car is enough to make you want to take
long road trips. But why not take the trip with a little more entertainment in
mind? The stock seats were removed and they received a black Italian suede
insert, baseball stitching, and diamond
pattern installed by Coco at 714 Motorsports. The headliner, pillars and audio
panels in the truck were also wrapped
in black Italian suede. A satin finish Ultimate pedal kit was bolted up for all
pedals and Street Glow neon accents were also installed. The windows were tinted
by Xtreme Tint. To kick off the audio system that would be the main attraction
in this Chrysler, an Alpine IVA-W200 7-inch touch screen monitor was installed.
Besides having the capabilities to play DVD, CD, MP3, and more, a Sirius Satellite Radio
was installed for non-stop radio access anywhere in the country. Getting around
the country is also easy with the Alpine Black Bird Navigation system. The sound
is pushed through Kicker Amplifiers including a Kicker ZX2500.1 D Class and a
Kicker ZX650.4 four channel. Bass is provided by three Kicker Comp VX12 12-inch subwoofers
with mids & highs coming from Kicker RS65.2 6½-inch component set in the front
and Kicker KS69 6x9 inch tri-axial set on the rear deck. All wiring and power
distribution is Kicker brand but the power is provided by a Kinetik HC2400 Power Cell to run the vehicle and amplifiers.
Also installed were four Kinetik HC600 Power Cells for impact response and increased reserve
capacity. The installation was performed by John at Discount Audio in Louisville Kentucky.
