Tommaso Costanzo proposes a symbolic and hermetic representation of the initiatory journey within the ancient knowledge between Old Testament Genesis and the Etruscan Mediterranean myth. In this work, the spectator enters a past world where time has stopped and he is faced with his forgotten knowledge, through a few symbolic elements, such as the Temple of Demetra or the eggs at the base of the tree, which represent the incubation of the coming of the earthly gods. The therianthropic figures depicted within the eggs are like floating in an ethereal space that exists outside the pictorial context of the picture.

The main faces, which we observe along the trunk of the tree, represent the double Hermes, the guardian of Knowledge. At the top of the work we observe the three main phases of the Moon and a Sun Eclipse.
