Ben Tamburello was always a center. All the way back to his days in peewee football, the future All-American snapped the ball. In a day where it was a rarity, he came to Auburn out of prep school in the winter quarter, went through conditioning and spring practice before his recruiting class reported in August. Tamburello was a contributor starting with his freshman season. By the time he was a senior, the Birmingham native was a two time All-American, appearing with Brent Fulwood on the Bob Hope Christmas Special. 

After five years in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles he retired and now lives in Birmingham. Tamburello will be honored with the likes of Ozzie Newsome and the Manning brothers as an SEC Legend at the SEC Championship game weekend in December.
