Gianni Cerqueti, historical voice of the Italian sport commentary and journalist who followed the Italian National Team and also football clubs in their European competitions, has retired from his job on Sunday 28 February.
He spent more than 40 years in the profession, 34 of which at Rai.
The announcement was done by one of his colleagues, Aurelio Capaldi who on social media, saluted Cerqueti as one who fulfilled his duties with “authority, competence and precision.”
