PostDaytona USA 2 confirmed for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series and PC. But there's a catch...

CATCH 1: The Daytona license has expired, so like its re-released arcade stablemate (2010) will now go under the title "SEGA Racing Classic 2".

Image

CATCH 2: You've got to purchase Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name

Image

CATCH 3: It's in its original 4:3 aspect ratio.

This marks the first time since its original 1998 Arcade release that Daytona USA 2, under the name "SEGA RACING CLASSIC 2", is coming to home console. The legendary racing game will be accompanied by Galaxy Force and Fighting Vipers 2 in the "Arcade" mode of Like a Dragon Gaiden which releases this November on PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

Originally, Daytona USA 2 was destined to be ported to Dreamcast but the project was cancelled and Daytona USA 2001 took its place.

While the tracks in SEGA RACING CLASSIC 2 will remain the same, some of the billboard brands, logos and verbal references will be removed.

Get on the blower to NASCAR or the Daytona racetrack and sort it aaaaaaaat.

I think you can still play it on xbox via BC if you have one.

I've done that but I don't know if it's available to buy any more.

Daytona USA has been delisted on Xbox 360, unfortunately. So if you haven't already purchased it, you're now completely out of luck.

It's still on the PS3 store however, price £6.49. You'll need a physical PS3 for that though.

Another SEGA classic that's been delisted in its HD form on Xbox is Jet Set Radio. You'll also need a PS3 if you want to purchase that, though probably not for much longer on both counts.

Only way I can play it is either via Saturn emu or on my 360 that half the time I can't be bothered plugging in

Still, I was going to buy the new Yakuza game anyway (I own all of them, I've only ever played and completed 6). Although it's because I had the 1/2 Remaster on Wii U and got quite far in 1 when my HDD died and I never had the heart to go back and I got the rest of the series on sale for like £15 on GOG. This just gives me even more reason to buy it. :toot: :toot:

Never really liked this series, i found the handling of the cars to be horrible, it's almost as if you're steering the back wheels instead of the front.

You can emulate the arcade version really easily.

Yeah but I want to support it in a way that makes sega realise people still like those games and want more.

Is this an RPG Yakuza Like a Dragon style game or an older brawler style, if it's RPG I'm all in.
