They are pretty much similar vocabs with similar meanings as well. They both can be translated in English with the word “distrust”.
However, there’s a slight difference.
Diffidenza can be described as a subtle feeling that comes out when you don’t really trust someone to the fullest. But still, you kinda have second thoughts.
For example, a stranger hands you 20$; you want to take them, but you don’t really trust them.
Sfiducia is when you actually don’t trust someone. It’s a 100% no.
