About

MARA is an all female rock band based in South West London. They take inspiration from Riot Gurrrl and powerful female voices such as Amy Winehouse, Hayley Williams, Courtney Love and others. While they love to play reimaginative covers they pride themselves on their originals, all of which contain a distinctly MARA sound that cannot be mistaken. Their originals are dramatic and emotional, centered around themes of female rage and injustice, while their covers dive into the field of heavy rock and metal, with large influences being Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Deftones, Muse, Highly Suspect and many more.
