CEVA Logistics will continue to connect Brazilian customers with high-end cosmetic products after recently signing a new five-year contract with Sephora, the cosmetics retailer owned by the world’s leading luxury goods group LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton).

CEVA has worked with Sephora in Brazil since 2015 for its 39 retail stores and studios across the country, adding logistics support for the company’s entire online service in 2017.

Multi-user distribution centres handle retail, eCommerce logistics

Under the contract, CEVA is now consolidating and distributing various cosmetic products, such as make-up, fragrances, hair care products, accessories, and body and bath products, including Sephora Collection brand products.

CEVA’s logistics support is managed from two multi-user distribution centres outside Sao Paulo. Services include inbound, warehousing, eCommerce fulfilment, outbound and reverse logistics. Both facilities are climate controlled to meet Sephora’s strict product efficacy requirements, ensuring all beauty products are stored in precisely monitored conditions.

CEVA SMART solution will provide greater productivity

CEVA will manage the Sephora business using its Beauty and Personal Care SMART solution, a dedicated suite of services for the Consumer & Retail industry. CEVA’s solutions will allow the storage of products at any regional or national distribution centre, organising omnichannel or mono-channel sales and then the distribution to stores, trade shows and wholesalers. In addition, CEVA’s Warehouse Management System is integrated with Sephora’s systems to ensure complete transparency and greater productivity.

Fabio Mendunekas, senior vice president for contract logistics in LATAM, CEVA Logistics, said: “We fully understand the high service levels and standards required by a customer such as Sephora. To maintain their reputation, we have focused relentlessly on streamlining supply chain processes and improving efficiency for them to ensure the product is always readily available to meet consumer demand. Our business process excellence team will strive for greater productivity to deliver even higher standards to Sephora.”

João Bittencourt, vice president of finance and operations, Sephora, added: “It is with great satisfaction that we announce the new five-year contract with CEVA Logistics. Working with a global logistics company with the necessary know-how has been a major factor in Sephora’s development and growth in Brazil in the past few years. We decided to continue this partnership because CEVA has a dynamic and flexible system that keeps up with the cosmetics market scenario. Besides, after more than six years working together, CEVA has shown its interest and effort to reach Sephora’s business goals in Brazil by helping out on operational progress and development.”
