Hidden away in the heart of Soho at No.61 Rupert Street is Spuntino, a restaurant that consists of 27 stools and a popcorn machine. The New York comfort food inspired eatery has developed a cult following with London foodies and has just opened its doors at Heathrow Terminal 3. Spuntino, which means ‘snack’ in Italian, has developed a bespoke airport breakfast and takeaway menu to deliver an ‘all day dining’ and ‘on board’ experience for many of the 18 million passengers who travel through Terminal 3 each year.
Spuntino is the brainchild of restaurateurs Richard Beatty and Russell Norman, the pair behind POLPO, and is the pair’s first project with TRG Concessions since signing an exclusive franchise partnership agreement early in 2018.
The restaurant serves up an indulgent menu of classic Spuntino staples alongside newly developed breakfast, children’s and takeaway menus.
For breakfast, expect to see delicious comfort food in the form of Truffled Egg Toast (£7), Denver Omelette (£9.50) and the Proper English Breakfast (£12.50) which is also available as an all-day option. Spuntino’s famous Mac’n’cheese (£8.50) is also joined by a vegan Spicy Jackfruit burger (£11.50) and a Salami, caper and chilli pizza (£12) on the main menu.
For little ones, a dedicated children’s menu includes breakfast and all day options at just £5.95 for a main dish and a drink, including Fluffy pancakes with seasonal fruit, a Classic hamburger, and Little Ceasar salad.
Spuntino will also serve up a selection of craft beers, wines and spirits alongside their signature cocktails including the New York Sour, Spuntino Bloody Mary and The Ted Damson, a blend of Wybrowa vodka, Sipsmith sloe gin, lemon and rhubarb bitters.
Signature features of the new restaurant include a donut machine, roller skating hosts and an original mural painted by famed Soho artist Neal Fox.
