Mulatero Earns Player of the Week Honor Following Two-Goal Performance

November 03, 2022

ST. LOUIS – Missouri State's Nicolo Mulatero earned Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week honors, the league announced today.

He receives the accolade after scoring both of MSU's goals in the team's final conference game of the season, beating SIUE 2-0. The two-goal outburst on Wednesday night was nothing new for the Bears' senior forward. The match, which ultimately kept the Bears undefeated in MVC play for the third time in four years, was his third multi-goal outing of the season.

Mulatero made quick work of the Cougars defense, scoring his first goal of the night just six minutes into the match to give the Bears the win. Less than 20 minutes later, the Givoletto, Italy, native added some insurance for MSU in the 25th minute, which was his eighth goal of the season. His eight goals not only lead the Bears but are just one score shy of the top spot in the conference.

After clinching sole possession of the MVC regular-season title over the weekend, the Bears return home next week to host the semifinals and finals of the tournament as the top seed on Nov. 10 and Nov. 13.

MSU will get a first-round bye to the semifinals before facing off against the lowest remaining seed on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 6 p.m.
