Mulatero Named Men’s Soccer All-American

December 09, 2022

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri State's Nicolo Mulatero has been named an NCAA Division I All-American as the United Soccer Coaches announced its prestigious postseason teams Friday. The senior forward earns the distinction for the first time in his career as one of 35 NCAA soccer players named to the sport's primary All-America Team.

Mulatero had a standout senior campaign for the Bears, leading the team and Missouri Valley Conference with nine goals while adding four assists. In 18 matches this fall, the senior forward also led the MVC with 22 points, recording three multi-goal matches during the Bears' 2022 campaign. Earlier this season, Mulatero was named a first team All-Missouri Valley Conference honoree for the third time in his career. The native of Givoletto, Italy, also earned the distinction of the conference's Forward of the Year award for the second time in his career.

Mulatero, along with teammates Jesus Barea, Kian Yari and Jack Denton, also earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors on Dec. 7. Their efforts helped the team to its fourth-straight Missouri Valley Conference regular-season title, third-straight MVC Tournament championship and fourth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance. Missouri State finished the season with an overall record of 12-2-4, going undefeated in MVC play for the second-straight year.
