Rumour: Soulcalibur remaster or collection apparently in development at Bandai Namco

Link in Soulcalibur 2

Xbox game journalist Shpeshal Nick is reporting that Bandai Namco is preparing a remaster of the original Soulcalibur. Nick apparently revealed the rumour on the Xbox Era podcast, though it should be stated that he is unsure as to whether it is a remaster of the original Soulcalibur, or alternatively a Soulcalibur collection comprising of Soulcalibur and Soulcalibur 2. Soulcalibur 2 is possibly the most well known entry in the classic fighting game series and would certainly benefit from a modern remaster. The GameCube version of Soulcalibur 2 included Link from The Legend of Zelda series as a playable fighter, which was great. It should be noted that this is just a rumour at present and nothing has been confirmed by Bandai Namco.

  1. I always like playing as Maxi, because i love Michelangelo from TMNT unfortunately despite being my favorite fighting game im not good at Soul Caliber but that won’t stop me from buying the remaster.

  2. Sounds interesting if true. I can only hope its decent enough though, as most of Bamco’s remasters have been pretty poor quality.

  3. Best Version of Soul Calibur II was Gamecube let’s not kid ourselves.
if this rumor is true, please bring Heihachi and Spawn to this version as well.

  4. They’ll probably do what they did with SC6 & just make SC7 cover the events of SC2 with a new side story for the character you create to explore. Speaking of, still haven’t completed mine on SC6.
