Daniel Belsito Named Assistant Tennis Coach

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte head tennis coach Billy Boykin announces the addition of Daniel Belsito to his staff as an assistant coach. Belsito will serve as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's tennis programs moving forward.

"I am excited to welcome Daniel Belsito to the Queens University of Charlotte tennis program," Boykin stated. "Daniel's enthusiasm for higher education and for intercollegiate athletics is contagious. He was a student-athlete of distinction, and his experiences – both in the classroom and on the court – will help him contribute in meaningful ways to our student athletes and to our program in the aggregate."

Belsito brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the university as the former SAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and two-time Academic All-American comes to Queens with a bachelors and master's degree in Sport Management. "I am incredibly thankful to Billy and Queens University for giving me the opportunity to coach at such a prestigious university in the city I call home," said Belsito.

On the court, Belsito trained with one of the best coaches resulting in SAC Player of the Year and three-time All-American honors. "I was blessed to play under one of the best coaches in SAC history, Michael Cabana, and I hope to bring the lessons and wisdom he's embedded in me to impact and help the men's and women's tennis players here at Queens in the most positive way I can!"

The men and women's tennis programs are coming off a very successful year on the court and in the classroom. The men finished last season with an overall record of 14-4 while the women finished 12-4. In the classroom, both programs were recognized as ITA All-Academic Teams and had a combined 22 athletes named ITA Scholar-Athletes. This framework for success is something that Belsito is eager to join. "I am excited to get started and help to continue the winning tradition here at Queens University of Charlotte."
