High or low sandals? How to choose the right one based on the occasion

We unanimously proclaimed them protagonists of the summer: the sandals. The perfect shoe for the summer, whether high or low, but depending on the occasion you will have to choose between one and the other. Let's find out the characteristics of both together to be able to find the right shoe each time without having the slightest doubt.

The flat sandals

We have already talked about it here in our latest article. Who said that to be feminine you have to wear a high shoe?

The flat sandal is not necessarily a sporty or informal shoe. It depends on what you choose. In my latest summer collection there is really something for all tastes and occasions.

There are sandals that are born to be worn every day, like the Samarita or the Fionarita. Comfortable, versatile, easy to wear. You put them on your feet and fly to work, look at them and give you energy in the most difficult moments, when the whole world posts photos of their beach holidays on social media and you are relegated to your desk until a later date. There are many color variations, all original, some a little more “courageous” others instead more neutral, which adapt to any look. Also because I know very well how difficult it can be to have to prepare in just 10 minutes and leave the house in a dignified guise.

There are more sporty sandals, like the Gianna, which is inspired by the first ancient models of open shoes, when footwear had only one task, simple but at the same time difficult, protect the foot. This model is also called fraticelli, recalling a humble taste, but the bolder colors such as coral or yellow make it truly unique.

And then also more elegant models, suitable for ceremonies or simply to more formal occasions. Those that are designed for those who hate being on heels and instead love to always feel stable, in contact with the earth.

Just a strap that hugs the ankle and the music changes completely. The sandal Kary or the Diana they are the proof. Feminine and romantic, these shoes are perfect with a wide pleated skirt or palazzo pants. The Kary are the first model I designed for this collection, I called it “a metropolitan sandal”: closed heel and slightly open toe make it suitable for fast movements in the insistent heat of the city. To this is added theirs marked originality that never makes them go unnoticed.

So, flat sandals are super comfortable as well as chic, suitable for both day and night. Just pay attention to choosing the right look, but they are certainly the least demanding shoe to match and easier to wear during the day.

The high sandals

Anyone who has tried our shoes knows that high sandal it is not synonymous with suffering. This is possible thanks to many attempts, rejected prototypes and night tests. I finally found the solution I was looking for. The insole with internal plateau soft and flexible it gives relief to the plant, allowing you to wear them for a whole day without regretting your flip flops.

There are many models and solutions. There is the medium-heeled sandal, like the Anna or the Acrobata. The latter are born precisely for the circus inspired collection, an open and comfortable Chanel model, elegant and refined. Its “acrobatic” lines make it unique and very special, thus allowing you to embellish a simple outfit and monochrome or to participate in your splendor together with a large and colorful maxi dress.

For a ceremony, two models would come to mind: Anita is Ragnetto. The first, especially in the glitter and green version, with a high heel, is inspired by the dancers who danced in the shows of the early twentieth century. The wide and stable heel makes them comfortable, also suitable for a wedding. Increasingly brides in fact they choose a shoe that is not the classic white sandal. Often the choice falls on shoes, sometimes made to measure for the occasion, which represent them and which can be used later also for other events.

The Ragnetto model is the romantic sandal par excellence of this collection. Both in the more vibrant colors, like the one in sea water and lime with white mini polka dots, both in the most delicate shades, it maintains a unique and elegant style. Also ideal for the bride, with a comfortable heel and flexible insole. I love the soft lines that run along the foot, intertwine and meet again at the ankle.

Also think of these high sandals with jeans and a loose blouse, or with a full skirt and a tank top. It is not a shoe to wear necessarily if you are invited to a wedding, quite the contrary. It will come to your aid very often when you have to opt for a casual but chic faux look!

And then there is the news of July 2019, the model Giovanna. I was inspired by the seventies, creating this more refined and sophisticated version of the classic summer clog, entirely in leather and much lighter than the wooden one. Colorful and sparkling, I would see it perfect with flared trousers or boho-chic style dresses.

In conclusion, there is no written rule. Always try to feel comfortable. Never ruin a special occasion just because you chose the wrong shoe.
