Chiesa San Leonardo e Convento dei Cappuccini

It thinks that it has been found between the VIII and IX centuries by refugees from Halaesa and that it was destroyed by the earthquake in 856.

It was possession of Ventimiglia, Torre and Branciforte families.

The most interesting monuments are the Cathedral Church with beautiful works of art among them a marble triptych of 1525 and two statues made by Scipione Li Volsi from Tusa; the Church of St. Pietro which keeps a canvas made by Alonzo Rodriguez (1578-1648); the Church of St. Leonardo with the Convent of Capuchins Friars.

Mother Church

Of particular importance are the sculptures visible in the broad stream of Tusa. Among them there are "La materia poteva non esserci" (The matter could not be) made by P. Consagra, the "Monumento al poeta morto" (Monument to the death poet) by Tano Festa, the labyrinth bearing the title "Arianna" by Italo Lanfredini.

Antonio Presti, the Tusa industrialist, gave his works of art to Communes and built on the shore of Tyrrhenian Sea the "Grand Hotel-Atelier sul mare", a hotel-museum full of particular furnishings.

In the end we want to mention the annual manifestation of the modern "Land Art".
