Computer ad and review compilations

Post by Commie_User »

Vintag.es has a good spread, as I flip through it. Many a healthy dose of the chicks of computers - in all their safe for work propriety - with the machines in as prominent display.

I'll stick more in as they come. Anybody else have some links?

There's a great collection of adverts, many with their background stories, organised by time and by manufacturer, at nosher:

Thanks. I'd love to see them complete that archive.

I'm intrigued by Sanyo's '1959' advert as much as the site compilers: https://nosher.net/archives/computers/p ... 1-14_sanyo

Cars and computers don't really match up but I'd say Stuart Chefait's comparison of the C64 to the Model T was more apposite. In this country, it would be more the Spectrum.

1985's Atari ST and Amiga (and the Pentium PCs of the multimedia age) also have more of a landmark quality.

Wow! That's an impressive slab of metal under that Shugart 14" hard drive!

I remember this from the Spitting Image book.

You can just imagine the heat and smell of hot electronics from that huge long row of tellies.

I'd call that a smell of my youth.
