The details in brief.
The in-game ship menu values the completed build (including about 75,000 credits in weapons/shields) at 275,000 credits. So expect to spend around that to complete the build as described.

The parts used in this build also require the player to be able to pilot Class C ships (so 4 points in Piloting) and 2 point in Starship Design. Furthermore, my character was level 25 when I designed this build, so you will probably need to have your character level somewhere around there in order to see these parts (specifically the engines and reactor) appearing as purchasable from vendors.

The build uses mainly Stroud Eklund parts for the habs, mainly because the cockpit is the Stroud Eklund Kon-Tikki B-300 Bridge, and I wanted the rest of the ship's interiors to match Stroud Eklund's internal aesthetic. The only exception to this are the two Taiyo Astroneering 3x1 habs that form the top and bottom of the ship's center. But honestly, you are free to use whatever hab pieces you wish. It's really the external structures/cowling that give the Ebon Hawk its iconic look.

Lastly, I made this design with practicality and usefulness in mind rather than purely aesthetic look. This means I wanted this ship to be able to fulfill whatever I needed for my various playthroughs, so I tried to ensure that the layout of the ship made sense for a player to use regularly. Put simply, the less confusing hallways and ladder systems the better. I want to use this ship as much as I used the Ebon Hawk in Kotor.

This is somewhat hampered by the fact that the Kon-Tikki B-300 Bridge only allows players to enter it via a ladder from the bottom rather than a freaking door. But until modders fix this, it is what it is.

What follows is a shot by shot recreation of my Ebon Hawk build which you can follow along with to recreate yourself. Let's get to it.
Part One: The Main Body
Part Two: The Central Body and Cockpit

Part Three: Cowling the Port and Starboard Wings

Part Four: The Undercarriage

Part Five: Weapons
Honestly, you can use whatever weapons you want. Just attach them to the same area identified by the pictures below.

Part Six: Paint Color
Here is setting I used for the rust color:

And here is the color setting for the grey-ish color for the rest of the ship:

Side note: as you may have noticed in the photos, I actually used two slightly different colors of grey on this build; the one shown above and another slightly darker. I did this in order to add some variety to the grey parts of the ship, but you can totally skip using two different colors of grey if you prefer.

Lastly, here is the black used for the engines:

Part Seven: Painting Multiple Pieces at Once
In case you don't know, you can select multiple ship pieces at once in order to paint them the same color simultaneously. Control + left click each ship piece you want to select like so:

You can then paint these pieces however you want:

Using this trick will help paint everything much faster.
Part Eight: Reference Photos
Below are a handful of photos from different angles to serve as a reference guide for applying the paint. I hope this guide helped, and remember, apathy is death.

Part Nine: Alternative Layout for the Habs
So you like the silhouette and profile of the build, but you don't really like the default layout of the habs in my step by step instructions? Maybe you want all the possible crafting tables? Or maybe you want the layout of the habs to match what was in the Kotor's Ebon Hawk as closely as possible?

This section is for you.

I said previously that I wanted this design to be usable for as many different playstyles as possible, so in this section I will show you how with just a couple of very minor adjustments, you can fit an additional 2x1 hab and replace one of the 2x2 habs with two 2x1 habs that you count outfit as you see fit.

First, let's give ourselves some room to work with by setting aside the pieces on the top of the ship. Hold control and left click each piece highlighted in the image below. This allows you to then drag all the pieces simultaneously rather than dragging then one by one.

Next, let's do the same for the engines as shown below.

Now lets delete the 2x2 hab in the port side of the ship as shown below.

Next, lets set aside this piece of Deimos cowling highlighted below on the starboard section for a moment.

Delete the 1x1 hab section that was located next to the cowling we just moved. Now move the remaining 2x2 hab back one space as shown below.

Now return the single piece of Deimos cowling to space shown below.

Now delete the lone Stround-Eklund mid-bracer that was located immediately behind the cockpit. Once that is removed we can add in additional 2x1 hab section as shown below.

Now add in two additional 2x1 hab sections on the port side of the ship where we deleted the larger 2x2 section earlier as shown in the images below.

Now we can put everything back together!

With our ship in one piece you can freely select these new hab pieces and pick what type of layout you'd like for each one. Want workshop space? A computer core? Go ahead and get decorating and experiment with different styles! There really is no wrong answer here, just personal preference.

@Timber Once you have selected and placed the 2x2 hab in the ship building menu, move your cursor over it and press the spacebar. This will bring up the option to select different hab layouts/styles (such as the battle station version or the cargo hold version) using the arrow keys. You can do the same for the 2x1 hab to select the infirmary layout as well.

I'm currently trying to build this out of Stroud-Eklund shipyard. I can't find the Cargo Hall 2x2 or the Infirmary anywhere. Where did you find that?

@dreamer the colony star port should have almost everything or at least enough to make a dent instead of flying everywhere, it also includes shielded cargo holds which given that its a cartel exchange ship should be a must. That said I ended up swapping the two 3x1 engi bays for Taiyo 1x1 connector habs & 2x1 armory and captain's hab, might ruin the flow but at least you got a bed and gun storage/display connected to the same ladder instead of a messy hallway but that's just me.

Thanks for sharing. Had to travel around a bit to build it but it was worth it :)

I thought I saw the Ebon Hawk as part of another ship. I am grateful that you shared this and did such a grand job on the guide as well. Well done!

@Shortchimp Yea the ladder thing is the main annoyance with this build, but I just haven't found a better cockpit that gives the Ebon Hawk it's square/blocky face.

You can use the navigation console in the 2x2 battle stations hab whenever you enter/exit the ship form the landing bay or space dock. Or you could also just simply fast travel without ever really sitting in the cockpit.

But if you find a better cockpit that avoids the ladders entirely, please let me know and I'll update the guide.

This is such a fantastic design for the Ebon Hawk holy! I've been trying to build my own Ebon Hawk but I never figured out how to build the cockpit design till I saw what you did. Only problem I have with the ship design is of course having to use ladders to enter the cockpit, which can be super annoying with how slow ladder climbing is, and you have to basically use 2 ladders to get to the cockpit. I've been trying to find a cockpit replacement so I can just use a damn door but they are either too too large so the 2 engineer bay idea doesn't fit, or does fit but isn't the square design I want :steamsad:

Thank you so much for making this! Every other Ebon Hawk guide I found was really vague and unhelpful. This really helped me and you should post it on the subreddit for starfield!

I couldn't find a single staryard or ship services that had every piece I needed, so I ended up buying each piece at the different staryards/ship sellers until I had everything. You will probably need to hop around to the different ship sellers to collect all the parts while using placeholder parts in the meantime.
