Today we are very excited to introduce the Top 3 games of Pixel Game Maker MV Summer Game Jam 2021!
This three-week Game Jam has provided many great games, and we are sincerely grateful to everyone in the community for using our software!
Star Surfer by RamZ This game was super enjoyable! You play as an astronaut traversing an unknown planet that happens to have several outhouses scattered around (possible signs of life?). The platform-based puzzles are cleverly designed, and player physics make you feel like you're really in space. In the end you discover that you are not only not alone on the planet, you are about to become something's dinner. Congrats to RamZ on First Place!
Oh Starry Knight! by LavadropEU You take on the role of Starry Knight, a star that took it upon itself to defend the universe against human invaders. The pixel art was incredible and every second of the game was full of color! The puzzle mechanics added a unique strategic aspect to the gameplay as well.
Vincent's Starry Night Sky by baccaritch Follow the story of Vincent van Gogh in this thought-provoking game. You play as Vincent and travel through his life, painting and gaining a deeper awareness about the struggles of depression. The gameplay changes slightly halfway through, which has Vincent fending for his life against ghostlike beings.
As a bonus, one of our team members, Baz, and pixel artist Noobk also participated in the Game Jam and ended up with an apocalyptic base defender game,Starfall Apocalypse. Can you survive the starfall apocalypse for five whole minutes?
We would also like to congratulate all of the participants of the Game Jam - the games were awesome and we enjoyed playing every one of them! If you haven't already, please take a look at the Submission Page to download and play!
