Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure is a Disney-themed skateboarding game using the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 engine, which Neversoft were kind enough to supply the developers with. Some changes obviously had to be made in order to keep things accessible for children, including a softened-up soundtrack, an option to use a simplified control scheme, and the replacement of blood particles with stars.

Despite the changes, many Tony Hawk players (especially those who are also Disney fans) find this to be an enjoyable game, to the point where the Andy's Room stage is included in the THUG Pro mod for Tony Hawk's Underground 2.

Sell out, with me, oh yeah! Sell out, with me tonight! The record company's gonna give me lotsa money and everything's gonna be all right!

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Level select + unused animation test level.
  • See if there's any indication of any unused outfit option that would actually show the unused parts of the underwear (several outfits for Create-A-Skater in proper Tony Hawk games would, and several are clearly reused from it).
  • Find a way to load the base female model into the game and get a picture.
  • There is now-lost prerelease media where Radio Disney held votes for which songs would be included within the game.

Debug Mode

Having debug mode will enable extra menu options, mainly in the pause menu and in the options menu. This will also open an animation test map, however this does not appear to work in the PS2 version of the game.

Default Costume

Textures showing a male's underside
Textures showing a female's underside
The hidden custom skater revealing that not only is the texture detailed, the actual model sculpt of the pelvis area is fairly detailed for a child in a children's game.

The textures for Create-a-Skater's body/underwear extend further than any outfit's model actually use. Of note is that the part for the legs will never see use and the lower border on the male textures is fairly detailed.

When the Skate Shop is first loaded, a model of a male custom skater in underwear does actually exist within the initial menu, placed far behind the player's view, and when a custom skater is highlighted on the character select, the default model will be moved to the stage as whatever character the player has highlighted. When a Custom Skater is no longer highlighted, the previously-loaded custom will then return back off the stage again. This remains the case until the player either highlights a custom skater again or they turn off the game. There is no way a player can see this model under normal conditions.

Oddities

Desa neversoft misaligned.png
  • The menu files refer to Skate Stage as "Skate Shop", a leftover from THPS4.
  • On the copyright screen, the Neversoft logo's spear is misaligned at the top.
