Fabio Fognini is about to start his title defense at the ATP 1000 in Monte Carlo while in the meantime his wife and 2015 US Open champion Flavia Pennetta gave a nice gift to her City: Brindisi.
Flavia decided to donate 2 courts to play paddle tennis that will be open from the next 1st of May. Pennetta commented:
“I wanted to give a gift to my city, Brindisi. The whole idea was born because there were no Padel facilities in my city and since there is great enthusiasm for this sport in recent times, I spoke to the club and we decided to set up two fields.
Padel in Puglia is very popular, I noticed that in Lecce the courts are always sold out and many people ask about this sport. I have already received appreciations from Brindisi for this possibility and from mid-April it will be possible to book the fields ”
Fabio and Flavia got married on June 16, 2016 and they have two kids: Federico and Farah.

Now the world no.18, the Italian played his last match on the 8th of April when he lost to world no.81 Jaume Antoni Munar Clar 6-2 6-1 in the 2nd round in Marbella (draw).
Until now, during this year Fognini has achieved a 7-7 record.
