Ex-Bayern striker Pizarro wishes he could work under 'totally exciting' Klopp

Throughout his illustrious 22-year career, Claudio Pizarro has worked under a number of top-tier managers from Thomas Schaaf, Ottmar Hitzfeld and Felix Magath to Jupp Heynckes, Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho. The Werder Bremen striker would love to add Jurgen Klopp's name to the list.

"Unfortunately, Jurgen Klopp is missing from the list, I have never had an opportunity to work with him," the 41-year-old told Weser-Kurier.

"That would have appealed to me very much. I hope that I can get to know Klopp in the future and that I can also see his training sessions.

"Without a doubt, I would have liked it very much to work with such a trainer. I find Klopp totally exciting from a player’s perspective."

On 8 October 2015, Klopp and his backroom staff joined Liverpool. In four years, the manager, along with his trusted lieutenants Peter Krawietz and Pep Lijnders, has turned the Reds into one of the best teams in the world.

The boss has led Liverpool to three major titles, winning the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

This season, the Reds are on course to finally with a long-awaited Premier League title. Klopp's crew have been nearly flawless this season so far and they are just 6 points away from the trophy.

After 29 matches, Liverpool are comfortably sitting on top of the table on 82 points, 25 points ahead of second-placed Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
