Ruud van Nistelrooy to become PSV manager from next season

Former Man United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has been confirmed as the next PSV manager.

The Dutch side has announced that the 45-year-old has signed a contract until 2025 to succeed Roger Schmidt who will leave the club in the summer.

PSV were the first major club in Van Nistelrooy's career: the Dutchman bagged 77 goals in 90 games in three years there.

As a coach, Van Nistelrooy also came up through the ranks at PSV. He was the U-19 coach before making a step up to the U-21 side last summer.

Van Nistelrooy was one of the most lethal strikers to represent Man United in the 21st century. He scored 150 goals in five years with the club, including 95 goals in the Premier League, winning every domestic trophy.
