  • Apron Design best practice, the International Airport of Rome “Leonardo da Vinci”

    The apron more than others parts of the aerodrome requires an holistic approach, because of the difficulties which exist in the process of operation, design and analysis. There are modern trends, including underground utilities, but the optimum solution shall fit in the specific context and take into account the general layout of the airside and terminals.

  • Innovative Pavement Management System

    Started as a research project for the Salerno County, Italy. Once collected all data of road accidents occurring from 2000 to 2010, they have been implemented into a GIS model of the existing road network of the county, finally a model was implemented to foresee prevision of traffic data.
    The goal was reached with the definition of a model to detect and hierarchise critical issues in the network, in order to use to minimize future accidents with a smart road management (considering restraint…

    Safety, more than comfort of drive, pass through the performances of the road. It means how roads maintain the surface roughness and withstand the loads through time without deformation.
