Profile:

A veteran of the VW Fun Cup with his own team 8KS Corse and the owner of roofing company Cremona Gronde, Claudio Remigo Cappelli made his stock car racing debut in 2019 when he competed in an one-off appearance for 42 Racing by FS Motorsport at Franciacorta in the then-Elite 2 class. He performed respectably in his NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, scoring his maiden top-10 finish in just his second race in the series.

Cappelli, always present with his prominent grey beard, returned to the series in 2022 after he signed a contract with MK1 Racing Italia to race the No. 16 team full-time in the EuroNASCAR PRO class through his association with MK1’s partner organization Sharks Team Italia.

He was due to compete in just the top class for 2022, but starting from the second round at Brands Hatch he also began to compete in the EuroNASCAR 2 class once more where he uniquely raced with a “two class, two teams” approached given that he mostly raced with Race Art Technology’s No. 18 Toyota Camry in EuroNASCAR’s junior division.
