The Undertaker has been in WWE through thick and thin. The mid-90s were not a good time for WWE but The Undertaker was one of the few people who stayed through the hardest times. Now, Kane has revealed that he thinks the company survived may not have survived without people like his kayfabe brother.
He made the revelation in a recent interview with RadioTimes. During the interview, he talked about things being terrible prior to the Attitude Era and Undertaker leading the company through it. Here is the full quote:
“When I came to WWE in 1995, things were terrible, frankly. He was the guy who was leading the charge into the Attitude Era and [Steve] Austin came along, The Rock came along, Undertaker was still in the mix. We see Austin and The Rock as highs, but the reason the company survived to reach those highs was because of a guy like The Undertaker and he probably doesn’t get enough credit for that.”
Undertaker and Kane feuded and teamed together on and off for 21 years. The debut of Kane’s character happened in 1997 and kicked off their rivalry but they have teamed up and split apart over and over until 2018.
