They may indeed be the same species. I've noticed that the 2nd type is often IDed as Stenocereus griseus

I can live with that, atleast until they get around to counting the chromosones with an electron microscope.

Hello, I also understand that they are the same species, but the first one in the photo seems to me to be a Lemaireocereus pruinosus

The Royal Botanic Gardens KEW Plants of the world online states that
Lemaireocereus pruinosus is a synonym for Stenocereus pruinosus
