There’s a lot of hate going around about the historical liberties EA DICE is taking with Battlefield V. Well, if realism and historical accuracy is what you’re craving for in a World War 2 shooter, you might be better off looking somewhere else. The good news is Periscope Games might have just what you’re looking for with their upcoming game, Post Scriptum: The Bloody Seventh.

According to the game’s Steam listing, Post Scriptum is “a WW2 simulation game, focusing on historical accuracy, large scale battle, difficult learning curve and an intense need for cohesion, communication and teamwork.” The game focuses on the events of “Operation Market Garden” which takes place in Holland. Players will be given the choice of joining the British Airborne Division, British XXX Corps, or several branches of the German Army.

At the time of launch, the game will feature 5 maps, 40 “faithfully recreated vehicles”, and 50 authentic weapons. A modding toolkit will also be provided for content creators who want to add or modify elements of the game.

The developers are also keen on continuing development and releasing post-launch content. Both the US 82nd and 101st Airborne Division are planned to be released some time after the game releases with those who purchase the Supporter edition getting earlier access. Updates to existing maps and additional maps are also on the roadmap, along with the Sandbox game mode and another unrevealed game mode. Most exciting of all, the devs will be trying (but not guaranteeing) to push for 50v50 dedicated servers.

Post Sriptum: The Bloody Seventh is set to launch on 18 July for PC via Steam.
