Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Delta Force: Task Force Dagger is based on missions from Operation Enduring Freedom. Players take control as one of 10 different Special Forces soldiers over 25 intense and varied missions set in Afghanistan. Only the best of the best are selected to become members of the 2/75th RANGER, SEAL Team 6, CIA Spec Ops, the UK SAS 22 Regiment, SFOD-SF Viper Team (Green Berets), Australian SASR, Canadian JTF-2, Marine Force Recon, USAF CSAR (Air Force Pararescue), and, of course, SFOD-Delta.

Missions take place deep in enemy territory, from Kandahar to Mazar-i-Sharif to Tora Bora. Delta Force Operatives raid rebel headquarters, take control of a local airport, ambush enemy convoys, and destroy key SAM and SCUD missile sites.

Utilizing NovaLogic's updated Land Warrior engine, Task Force Dagger has been designed by Zombie Studios as a stand-alone mission pack with new characters, weapons, and single and multiplayer levels.

Being a fan of Novalogic's Delta Force series, and military FPS' in general, I was stoked when this game hit the shelves last Summer. This game didn't disappoint me and I'm still playing it regularly 6 months or so later. I've played both SOF's, Rainbow Six, Wolfenstein, etc and none of them grab me like these DF games do; especially DFTFD! Many argue that the Afghanistan backdrop was a marketing device, and make complaints about the game's weak enemy AI, but let's face gaming reality people:
single play is for basic training, what really makes this game is it's multi-play and it's as-you-go miltary ranking system. As anyone who's played these games knows when you make General, after struggling for so long to get there, you really feel like you've accomplished something. Another MAJOR point in favor of this game is the no hassle servers provided by Novalogic. No Game Spy type hassles here, just log on and let that M4 Sopmod rip on automatic. Any game has its problems (Wolfenstein anyone?)
but TFD's are overshadowed by great multi play, up to the minute storyline, new weaponry, and Novalogic's excellent servers. Now that it's less than 20 bucks, with Novalogic's latest
Black Hawk Down arriving in stores in a few days, you won't get so bummed if you dont dig the game.

Hey its all good man. DFLW and TFD both give up realism for playability, but thats what makes me fire these games back up again and again. Other simulations are not quite on the mark, such as Ghost Recon, where the terrorists can pop you with an iron-sight AK47 from over 500 yards and your movement is very clunky.
My only criticism of both LW games is the FNG and the M249. Too many players run around firing madly with this gun and can hit you from amazing distances. This is just plain unrealistic. They should modify the physics of these two weapons to make them very inaccurate past a certain range. I can always spot a bad player when I see him bouncing around near hills firing away with an FN, taking advantage of 2 major bugs, the 'hill bug' and the unrealistic accuracy of the FN.
Multiplayer is the best part of this game bar none. Playing against humans is better than playing against the computer.
Since there isn't too much thats new here, buy it when its in the sale bin.

First of all my keycode was already in use by 5 other Nova accounts. So I contacted support. It's non-existant. I got an email back which looked like it was "automated". It didn't give me any info about my problem exept tell me about copied keycodes. I also have alot of problems with the game crashing when I try to play multiplayer. And again, tech support was no help. The only reason I bought this game was because I liked Land Warrior. I wouldn't recommend anyone wasting their money on this game.

I can't believe that anybody would say that this game has improved graphics over DFLW. They use the same engine, only this one seems to run slower. And the enemy AI is pathetic. You can almost walk up to some of them before they bother to notice you are there to take their lives. I have been down with the last 3 Delta Force games, but the only thing i can figure is that this last effort(or lack of effort) by Novalogic must be a way to make money before the greatest game, DF Black Hawk Down, gets here. The reason I gave this game 2 stars is because Novalogic had a good idea with letting you choose from 10 different special forces soldiers, and because i love the supressed M4. If you really feel compelled to get this game, then go ahead. But if you can hold out until Black Hawk Down gets here, then wait for it.

I have all the Delta Force games and was looking forward to owning Amber Falls. After buying Delta Force Extreme from Fryes in Mesquite, Tex and trying to install into my Pentium 3, it would not load. I read the requirements which I did not have, so I called your company (Novalogic)and was told i needed to at least upgrade my vidieo card. Ok, I did, but it still would not play. In the mean-time I moved to Las Vegas and bought a new computer. I tried to load the newest game and it would not load, fro some reason I forget. I called Novalogic again and was told the game I had was a used game I apparently had bought off of the street. I explained and was told to take it back where I had bought it. If you cannot resolve this problem, I will continue to boycott you products and write more reviews about my sad story.
ALSO; Tell me about Amber Falls

If your a fan of the Delta Force Series, this is still a must. I love it BUT they really rushed to put it out to market. There is a lot of bugs. For one example, The mission: Capture the General that is protected by 3 guards in the tallest building. I never got to the building, I never saw the gaurds, but when I killed the last bad guy outside the building, it said Mission Complete". There a few missions like this. Other missions say kill everyone, and after killing 10 of 15 bad guys, it said the mission was finished. But still it was worth playing because of the current events taking place in the middle east. Time flew while I played it, and finished the game in 2 days. I was disappointed that the campaigns where the same as quick missions, unlike DF past games. Being a sniper in the helicopter was the BEST mission! I can't wait for Blackhawk Down, BUT PLEASE TEST IT!
