Back in the day I loved this game, and I must confess, I still do now. I had Die Hard Arcade, but was bummed at the time because it didn't follow the movie, ( but it's still a great beat-um-up game ) but Die Hard Trilogy does it in spades! I love the fact that it follows the first three Die Hard movies, and in each one there is different types of game-play to amuse yourselves with. In the first one, your in the Nakatomi Plaza killing bad-guys in a third person shooter. You have an allotted amount of time to rescue as many hostages as you can and then defuse the bombs. It's a fast-paced, run through the plaza looking in different rooms and levels armed to the teeth causing mayhem and saving the day type of level, whew that's a mouth-full! In the second Die Hard, your at the Dullis Airport and your killing baddies in an on-rail shooter. What's cool is you can use your D-pad or a light gun to shoot with. I remember the first time I beat it, I thought I was king poop because it was such a long and hard level. The game would also get on your case when you shoot to many innocent hostages, bummer! It was also very very bloody and fast paced, it kept your heart pumping by shooting and blowing up everything in the airport! ( and even on the airplanes ) In the third one, Die Hard with a Vengeance, your in a driving game ( it's like Crazy Taxi goes to hell ) and again you have an allotted amount of time to defuse bombs in different parts of New York City. This is truly the craziest game of the trilogy no hands down! You get to drive a taxi, sports cars, and dump trucks, and is it fun! What could be more satisfying than plowing through New Yorker's while trying to save them? I say nothing! This level was so violent, that it was banned in Germany because of the blood splatting all over the windshield, and the bodies of those you ran over. If this game was done with today's graphics it would be banned everywhere, but it's down right funny ( and cheesy ) with the older game-play and graphics this game offers. For the day the graphics are not too bad, and the frame rate is fast and the game-play is fun, fun, fun! This is one of those gems that gave gamer's way more than their money's worth. Three games in one, you bet! This is a must for any Sega Saturn library. " Happy Die Hard gaming! "
Yes, the racing game parts for Die Hard 3 are crap, but the third person action version of Die Hard and the rail shooter version of Die Hard 2 are great! Quick tip, in the Die Hard 2 segment, shoot down the plane (or was it a helicopter?) that shows up right at the beginning for a second pistol.
