ゲーセン等によくある画面内の敵を打ちまくるガンシューティングとは違い、ガンコン２の十字キーを操作しながら森や川を突き進み360度から襲ってくる恐竜を倒しつつ制限時間内にステージクリアできなければ即ゲームオーバーというカプコンさんらしいハードな内容ですが、これがヤミツキになります！

慣れればガンコンでも普通に操作できますしコントローラでプレイしても十分楽しめます。
基本的に恐竜が襲ってきたら一歩下がって撃つというスタイルでプレイすれば簡単だと思います。
まず臨場感あるフィールドに圧倒されます。ボスも普通に強いし何より制限時間があるのが（これが痛い。もっと自由にフィールドを探索したいのに…）厳しいですね。
非常にやり込めるので、これはかなりの良作だと思います。
