I grew up watching these movies so I've been watching them with my kids. They crack up

Absolute classic; they certainly don't make them this good anymore!
Watched it for the first time as an adult, and I had missed so much of the adult humor when I was a kid.
This movie has a superb mixture of low-brow and high-brow humor, and the cast expertly plays their roles.
The music is fire, and the pacing of the movie keeps you eager to see what happens next, but doesn't move so fast that you don't have time to soak in the jokes.
You'll love this movie if you have a good 1990s sense of humor! If you're a crybaby snowflake, you might wanna skip this one, as comedy this funny isn't for you.

The whole series is hysterical.

The grandaddy of "The Naked Gun" franchise is "Airplane!" (1980), in which everyone—including the actor himself—discovered that Leslie Nielsen had spent most of his career playing serious heroes or villains while a deadpan imp was begging to be set free. Thus was born a second act in this performer's life, disproving Scott Fitzgerald's claim that "there are no second acts in American lives." Maybe Nielsen doesn't disprove it. He was Canadian.
Probably the best "Naked Gun" was the original (1988). I can't keep straight most of what happens in its two sequels because they blur together. As with "Airplane!," "Naked Gun" stories are the thinnest clotheslines on which to pin as much slapstick as two hours can hold. Peppered by some funny lines, sight gags commandeer the proceedings, which explains why the end credits thank by name some 267 stunt men and women, or so it seems. (Keep watching the final credits as they crawl over Ira Newborn's brassy big-band closer: they're filled with silly puns, cracked Easter eggs, and wonderful non sequiturs.) Some of the humor is bawdy and will offend sensitive souls, but the raunch factor is low. These are movies about human stupidity, not meanness.
When it comes to deadpanning, Priscilla Presley is every bit as good as Nielsen. George Kennedy and O. J. Simpson supply the requisite dolt quotient. This I do remember: "33 1/3: The Final Insult" reaches its thirty-minute climax at Hollywood's Academy Awards: a self-important sitting duck just waiting to be taken down by buffoonery.
When you've had enough of real life—and in mid-2020 I'm nearing the end of my tether—"The Naked Gun" is there to transport you back to The Three Stooges. Life is too serious to miss medicinal doses of hearty silliness.

The Naked Gun

Excellent movie for comedy! Anna Nicole Smith has a role in this movie before her demise, and of course OJ Simpson is included too. The Zanuk brothers have done it again in the last sequel to the Naked Gun series. Hilarious and if you want to laugh, again, this is the movie for you. No depression exists here! For younger viewers, I would suggest parental control.

Leslie Nielsen and Jerry Lewis are my favorites

What a riot! Leslie Nielsen was just such a fun actor to watch, without going overboard his dead-panned performance kept us in stitches. The only disconcerting part of the movie (and many viewers may not feel this way) was seeing OJ in a lead role, knowing everything we know today about him.
