A super comprehensive reference to tube technology. A great math text. If this book had been available to me earlier I believe it could have changed my life relative to my career in electronics. Years worth of studies which unveils the magic and mojo of vacuum tubes in audio/instrument amplification! This book was referenced incessantly throughout the sixties and seventies, however, it appeared to be made out of unobtainium until recently.

The book is a technical classic. I'd been wanting a copy for years, and was finally given permission to buy one. The copy I got is immaculate, looking almost new.

My only complaint, a minor one, is the time it took. The book didn't ship until several weeks after I ordered it. Even though I had been warned that might be the case, it was still hard to wait.

This original copy of the handbook was obviously well loved. Edges of bindings frayed and cover faded. But pages were in remarkable condition.

I was surprised at the shipping cost and then further surprised at the Border Service GST levy and handling fees. All in they well exceeded the price of the book. Although none of this is the fault of the Vendor, and may be due to the current trade disputes, it would be helpful for future buyers to have this information, if possible.

You need to have a solid understanding of maths, physics and electronics to get the best out of it. But it is written in a sofisticated style and language modern technical books do all to often not reach. It is actually a joy to read, almost feels like being in a radio valves lab class in the 1950's. Suite up, thigthen your tie and don't forget to pocket your slide rule!

This book has it all. And they say in preface that they tried to keep the book short and did not go in detail in some aspects. Man, really other times. Basically it is a intensive sort of class in electronics from the time everything was tube. For em this is the tube bible.
