It was the light that sprouted from every Van Gogh's "Night Café terrace " brushstroke to conjure in me the passion for painting and its ability to communicate values, emotions, and beauty. Every time it is a surprise to find beauty in words, experiences, relationships, places and souls. All this is part of the substance of my art. I do everything from self-taught, with method and passion, while conducting theoretical studies and practical exercises; collecting and studying texts and masterpieces of the greatest masters of painting, both in the past and in the present, as well as improving my craft with various drawing, anatomy, and color theory books. I am mainly focused on contemporary art inspired by Paul Cezanne's research. In addition to him, my painters of reference are Matisse, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Nicolas de Stael, and Basquiat. I am stretched between the classics and the existential expressionism. I also balance formal and informal. I study the Italian classic painters Burri, as well as the new American expression. My work may sometimes also be material (materico). After a stage of stylistic eclecticism, made of study and research, my style is now permanently acquired by the informal materico. I was born in Syracuse, Sicily, Italy, on 23 November 1972 and live in Floridia, a serene and laborious town in the province of Syracuse. My dad and I created a modest atelier in what used to be our parking garage. I keep my bookstores, my work table, and my computer station. In addition to the books, I use the Internet for studies, research, updates and relationships with other artists, and I spend a lot of time on excursions with my friends in the cities and in nature. I'm fascinated by my land, not only because I'm close to it but because it’s very unique from aesthetically. The great German poet Göthe said: "Italy without Sicily leaves no image in the spirit. Sicily is the key to everything. The purity of the contours, the softness of everything the yielding shimmering colors, the harmonious unity of the sky with the sea and the sea with the earth. Who has seen them once, will have them throughout their lives." I always promise to myself to "sing" the beauties of my land. My motto is: "To leave more beauty than I have found". I hope with my modest quality and ability to achieve this goal. It was said by Peppino Impastato, one of my fellow citizens, who fought against the injustices of my land: " If taught beauty to people , it would be a weapon against resignation, fear and omertà. That is why people should be educated to beauty: so men and women no longer embrace habit and resignation, but keep curiosity and amazement alive. "
