The village of Noepoli is located close to an ancient enotrian-Lucanian settlement, along the crest line of a hill. The Parish church, dating back to the 16th century, preserves a 12th century capital, a 15th century baptismal font made of stone and a wooden crucifix from the same period. The castle, built in the fifteenth century and now hosting the town hall, is very impressive. Close to one of its towers opens Piazza Marconi, better known as “the turret”. The castle has a magnificent stone portal with ancient decorations, dating back to the 18th century. Outside the inhabited area are the remains of a Byzantine chapel from the X-XI century and from here it is easy to reach the vast plateau of the Farneta wood, consisting of some specimens of farneto, a particular oak about 30 meters tall.
