“Over the last few years as streaming consumption has grown, ReverbNation has placed greater emphasis on connecting distribution to its other core promotional products,” said Michael Doernberg, CEO of ReverbNation in a statement. “FUGA’s platform gives us the technical power we were looking for without us having to sacrifice flexibility.”
In New York, the Dutch company welcomes Daniel Komanoff in the role of technical account manager and former Beatport A&R Gavin Pomerantz, who will be managing promotions in the region.
In London, FUGA has opened a new office at Tileyard Studios in King’s Cross, where new hire Björn Sandberg will act as a dedicated U.K. promotions manager.
And in Italy FUGA has opened its first office in Milan, a move accompanied by a number of new Italian clients added to the company’s worldwide distribution roster, including Undamento, Ala Bianca and Hukapan. The new office will be headed by Italy MD Lorenzo Grignani with Massimo Reali as digital label and promotions manager for Italy — both of whom are joining from Sounday.
The new moves follow a pledge of €6 million ($7.38 million at the current exchange rate) from FUGA’s shareholders last October.
“2018 is already proving a strong year for FUGA,” said CEO Pieter van Rijn in a statement. “I am pleased to welcome such a spread of experienced new team members and particularly proud to announce the opening of our offices in London and Milan. We are very happy to welcome these established independent record labels and innovative music services to our growing operation.”
FUGA was founded in 2006 by technology company Independent IP as a fully automated service for rights holders, offering services including global distribution of master recordings, promotion and revenue collection.
