Community Tasting Notes 5

November 11, 2023 - This has a great intensity of red fruit, mainly cherry with some raspberry, underlined by refreshing and aromatic acidity. Still there is this dry herbal, earthy touch characteristic of Etna Rosso wines, so it seems. Very Italian somehow. Ample tannins assist in creating depth of flavour and emphasise the dry nature.

October 3, 2021 - Glad I've finally discovered these. A great food wine (this time with "puttanesca" soup). 20 minutes in the glass, singing from the start.

May 2, 2021 - Nose gives away savory notes of cherries. The palate is round with supple tannins, dried cherries and plums on the palate with chalky minerality and some herby flavors on the medium long ending. Very enjoyable, and another good example of the potential of Etna wines.

December 29, 2020 - Not much on the nose. Really not much on the nose. Odd. And rather turgid on the palate. But who am I to critique? - I'm not a huge fan of Etna wines. Swirling does have it come up.

August 26, 2020 - That has some Etna dust on it. And has the Etna feel on the palate. Really high elevation more remote site. Most vines have been replaced with olive groves and wines made at Terre Nere. At $40 that's over to me but I am as big a fan of Etna as others.
