ANICA (Italian Association of Cinema, Audiovisual and Digital Companies)

Francesco Rutelli (Roma, 1954) is married to Barbara Palombelli; they have four children and four grandchildren. He is the President of ANICA, Italian Association of Cinema, Audiovisual and Digital Companies, (2016-today); during his tenure, this Association Member of Confindustria doubled its members and extended its activities to the wider industrial and creative sector. He is the President of ANICA Academy, and Videocittà, Moving Images Festival (2018-today).

Mayor of Rome (1993-2001), elected with the highest support ever. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture of Italy (2006-2008). Member of the Italian Parliament from 1983 to 2013 (five times elected in Camera dei Deputati, one in the Senate). Member of the European Parliament (1999-2004). Among his institutional positions: Chairman, Human Rights Committee (Camera dei Deputati); Government Commissioner for the year 2000 Jubilee; Chairman, COPASIR (House and Senate Intelligence Committee).

He is the Founder (2020) and President of the Soft Power Club, a group of international leaders coming together every year in Venice. Chairman, Meeting of Civilizations Association; Founder (1989) and President, Centre for a Sustainable Future. He established and chairs ESGR (Environmental, Social, Governance, Reputation), a Benefit Company engaged in Sustainability training and assessment.

Degree in Landscape and Environmental Planning and Design (La Sapienza University, Tuscia University). He is a journalist, since 1983. His recent books: “Tutte le strade partono da Roma” (2020); “Roma, Camminando” (2022); “Il Secolo Verde” (2023).
