Product Overview: The Creative Zen Micro is a portable MP3, WMA and WAV digital music player with a 6GB built-in hard drive. The player can store up to 200 hours of digital audio. It has a 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo mini-jack on the top of the player for use with stereo headphones.

Storage Capacity: This unit's 6GB hard drive can store approximately 200 hours of WMA files recorded at 64 kbps or 100 hours of MP3 files recorded at 128 kbps.

USB 2.0 High Speed: This unit has a top-mounted USB Mini-B Version 2.0 port for fast data transfers to and from your computer via the supplied USB cable. This high-speed connection allows you to load songs at a rate of approximately one song per second. The USB cable is also used to charge/recharge the battery when it is hooked to your computer, or USB power adapter (both sold separately).

LCD Screen: The Zen Micro features a 160 x 104 pixel LCD screen with sky blue LED backlighting. The 1-9/16" x 15/16" display provides battery status, title/artist information, and an interactive menu for navigating through the music and data files.

Transferring Music and Data Files: Several audio selections have been preloaded to the player's memory to allow you to listen to music immediately. You can download additional music tracks from Internet music sites or "rip" them from audio CDs. Music files must be encoded to MP3, WMA or WAV file formats, then transferred to the player with the supplied Creative MediaSource Organizer software. Audio tracks can be organized by Playlists, Albums, Artists, and Genres. Creative Zen Media Explorer helps you manage your files within Windows Explorer.

Touch Pad Control: You can easily navigate through the menus, music files and folders, and playback functions using the handy Touch Pad.

Organizer Features: Allows you to store contact information, tasks, and calendar events on your player.

Controls: In addition to the Touch Pad, the Zen Micro has basic transport controls (play/pause, forward, reverse), a menu button, back button, and a power on/off button. Using the Touch Pad, you can adjust the volume level from 0 to 25.

Play Modes: The player features the following playback modes:

• Normal Play
• Repeat Track
• Repeat All
• Play Track Once
• Shuffle Repeat
• Shuffle

Bookmarks: A bookmark let you mark a point within a track, so you can return to it quickly. You can use up to 10 bookmarks at any time.

FM Presets: The Zen Micro lets you store 32 of your favorite FM stations in memory.

Recording: The Zen Micro supports the following recording functions: FM radio recording and recording using the built-in microphone.

Power Requirements: The Zen Micro is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. The battery provides approximately 12 hours of continuous playback time. A battery status icon appears in the display window to indicate charge level. The battery is also charged when connected to your computer via the USB cable, or USB power adapter.

Information Screen: The Zen Micro's Information screen provides information about the player, including the firmware version, total amount of space in the player for storing music or data, amount of available space in the player, and the total number of tracks, albums, and playlists stored in the player.

Lock: The player has a lock feature that disables all buttons on the player, to prevent accidental activation.

• Creative MediaSource: Allows you to organize and transfer audio to and from the player, rip audio CDs, transfer tracks by manual selection or with AudioSync, edit track information, as well as create and edit playlists

• CPU: Intel Pentium II 350 MHz or AMD K6-2 450 MHz (Pentium III 450 MHz or higher recommended for MP3 encoding)
• Drive: CD-ROM drive with digital audio extraction support
• RAM: 64 MB (128 MB recommended)
• Free Hard Disk Space: 55 MB (more for audio content storage)
• Interface: USB 2.0 Full Speed (formerly called USB 1.1) (USB 2.0 High-Speed recommended for high speed transfer)

Firmware Upgrades: Occasionally, firmware upgrades for the Zen Micro are available from the Creative Labs website.
