It’s going to be a holiday in Long Beach for fans of punk music when former Dead Kennedys lead singer Jello Biafra makes a stop at Alex’s Bar at 2913 E. Anaheim St. on Saturday for a one-night concert.

But fans of the hardcore punk band known for their outspoken political views and songs like “Holiday in Cambodia,” and “I Fought the Law,” shouldn’t expect that long-awaited reunion of the original members. Biafra is now touring with his new-ish band, Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine, which he put together about five years ago.

The tour is in support of the band’s new album “White People And the Damage Done.”

The night will also include performances from fellow punk bands Bad Antics, Peace Creep and Plague Vendor.

The Dead Kennedys formed in San Francisco in 1978 and released five albums before breaking up in 1986. The band reunited in 2001 but without Biafra, who has said he will never sing in a reformed Dead Kennedys.

Tickets for the 9 p.m. Long Beach show are $13 in advance and $15 at the door. To purchase tickets go to alexsbar.com or call 562-434-8292.
