I had this phone several years ago. I ended up losing it. I am so happy to have it again. I have an iPhone 6plus, I won't get rid of it. It is nice to have small phone and it is comfortable to talk on.

I was so disappointed with this purchase. I did not receive the correct charging unit and when I plugged the unit that I received into my phone to charge it, I believe it fried the phone. The outer casing is made from a very weak plastic material, that makes the phone appear very nice but it can not endure very much normal use. I buy many things on E-Bay and normally I am very happy. I believe this is my only complaint to date. I don't believe that I will buy electronics this way in the future. Thanks, Joe

I bought this phone because I really like the clamshell design and definitely believe that Nokia has the best cell phones on the market. Reception and quality, Nokia can't be beat. The 6131 is a very nice quad GSM phone at a good price! I recommend it! Good qualities: I wanted a screen that is bright and vibrant and this phone has the absolute best on the market. Both the internal screen and external screen are awesome. The colors are better than my TV. Now having that beautiful color does wear on the battery. Battery life lasts 2 days at the most, therefore you will need a car charger and would recommend a spare battery. Texting is so easy with the large keypad. Unlike my N73 which has tiny keys, this keypad is largy and roomy. I bet people with large hands would have no problem :) The UI is nice, and you can customize quite a lot, even the inner and outer displays. You can easily download ringtones and themes directly from the WAP, which is lightening fast thanks to EDGE. I have not had the phone crash or found that applications work slowly. Pleased with the speed. The camera is great in favorable lighting conditions and I can take clear, pretty pictures that aren't blurry! However, in doors with poor lighting conditions, the pictures are grainy. The video camera quality is good, the MP3 player has excellent sound, and it's nice to have a radio that works. I am pleased with the calendar, alarm clock, blue tooth and infrared devices. Drawbacks: The phone has series 40v3 firmware, and I have yet to find any interesting applications to download. :( I can't use the Nokia Updater because it requires OTA updating, instead of through the PC :( If you have TMobile USA, you won't be able to use Opera Mini or Google Maps with Tzones - you would need to buy the internet package, which is stupid :( Summary: Thd design, shape, weight and feel of this phone is first class. The screen is the most amazing you can find on the market today. The reception is awesome and you won't drop calls in low frequency areas. The battery life is poor so don't expect days of usage on one charge. The speakers are LOUD and the music player good. It uses micro SD card and its easy to install games, ringtones, themes and pictures. Until the new models (6290, N75, N76) come out and sell for decent prices, this is the best Nokia quad band clamshell phone on the market today. If it had a flash and better battery life, it would rate a 5. It's almost perfect, so I rate it a 4. It's a keeper :)Read full review
I've been through alot of phones, n70, blackberry storm, n80, 5200, 6126, pearl, cect, fly ying, 810i and a few others but right now for what i do with my phone all i need is a basic phone to call and text and of course listen to a little music. This phone is just the best for me. I love the design of the clamshell with the push button flip, and the second screen which makes it quite easy to use with only 1 hand, I don't use the IR but the bluetooth is welcome. The sound quality is great, It doesn't sound muffled or stiffled but it's not studio either since this is a phone. The phone features IR, Bluetooth, Radio, camera, side bottons for volume control, 2 screens (handy for screening calls when closed), a camera which can be operated while closed so that you can take pics of yourself, themes are in abundance online and software is easily available to design your own. The phone features a micro sd slot but it should be noted that only 2 gb of space are available as more than that is not supported and makes the phone run alot slower. The difference between this model and the 6126 is that this model features Radio and infrared The only con lies with a material which they used on the black part of the phone, over time it peels off and there is no easy face replacement only housing replacements which means you have to open up the phone and take the parts from one body to the next. This would be simple were it not for the difficulty with the push button flip mechanism which on first attempt can be difficult to remove. Also a significant note is when moving the flex cable extreme care must be taken because if not then the phone screen will start deteriorating in a short while. Overall this phone is extremely good as it is quite strong. It has fallen many times and not stopped working though certain parts of the housing will tell the tale. It does all the basics with extreme efficiency though if you want a phone for internet browsing GPS and a host of other features you will probably never use this is not the phone for you but if you only need a simple phone to call text and check small things online then this is definitely a great buy. Only thing that I'm mad at is I purchased my new one for 95 and saw it 10 mins later for 53 but I'll make up for it somehow :) cheersRead full review
Battery life is a lot shorter than my old LCD phone, but this thing has a bright, laptop quality screen and I can still get 2 days between charges. In fact, I wish the screen had a dimmer for night. Other than that, I love everything about this phone, and I'm so glad that I have an unlocked/unbranded model. It takes a little investment of time to update to the latest firmware (and a lot of time to set things up with the yahoos at ATT/Cingular,) but not having forced-presets and locked-out functions more than makes up for it. e.g. I can use .aac OR .mp3 files for ringtones, so my own music collection provides all the free ringtones I'll ever use. Plus, the Cingular 6126 doesn't have the FM radio or the infrared port, which made it really easy to move my old non-GSM address book to the new phone. My friends with Cingular phones are jealous!Read full review
