Civic Museum of Bisacquino

The Civic Museum of Bisacquino is housed in the former Convent of the Capuchin Friars.
The museum itinerary is divided into two levels of the former convent.
On the ground floor, the exhibition itinerary begins with history exhibits natural, pertaining to the territory, and the archaeological finds. The archaeological section offers Neolithic, Roman and early medieval finds.
In the artistic section there are paintings and ceramics from the 18th and 19th centuries.
The museum itinerary continues through a cognitive itinerary of the most significant testimonies of the material culture expressed in the various eras in Bisacquino, and ends with the section dedicated to the production of rare mechanical watches dating back to the 18th century and the practice of the watchmaker's art.
Upstairs, the museum itinerary continues with the anthropological section. Various settings have been reconstructed that allow us to show the ancient traditions of life and trades of the community of Bisacquino. Of interest is a collection of weapons from the Middle Ages to the 19th century and the reconstructions of 19th century workshops and houses.
Finally, a section is dedicated to the artistic activity of Frank Capra, which finds space in an environment of large size conceived as a projection room.
