Boleslav Felix Robert "Bill" Sienkiewicz is an Eisner Award-winning American artist best known for his comic book work, primarily for Marvel Comics' The New Mutants and Elektra: Assassin. Sienkiewicz often utilizes oil painting, collage, mimeograph and other forms generally uncommon in comic books.
An oversized slipcased reprint of Claremont and Sienkiewicz's groundbreaking run on The New Mutants. As a kid, I had been reading the series since the first issue - it was my favorite book at the time. The sudden change in art was a shock to me and to the entire comics world. Marvel gave Sienkiewicz free reign to draw what he felt, to experiment - and to do so on one of their best-selling titles was a risk. The oversized format shows just how much weird detail he put into every page. There is also a lot of Duotone goodness that I miss with today's modern, computer-colored books.
Looking forward to the NM film, which will be based in part on the Demon Bear portion of this volume!
