Jane Eyre for some reason is just not for me, this is my third time reading it and I can officially say I can't go along with it. I think Mr. Rochester is just manipulative to extremes and Jane is so naive is actually painful to read thru it, I know back at that time things were completely different than now but like just no. Wuthering Heights though is brilliant, no one tries to be anything other than what they truly are, personalities are dark and twisted and it shows throughout the book, and I love that. The scenarios that are described are just beautiful and there's mistery. The characters are awful, I'll give you that, but it's not a book about comedy, so you have to know you won't find sunshine and rainbows inside those pages, but Emily writes about how bad people can be or how awful things can turn out and people can be just as bad in the real world. I like that she was honest about it. And Agnes Grey, well, for me it was just a bore, start to finish, Agnes is too plain, the story just go on and on and on about the same thing, nothing much happens, at all. Yes we get to learn more about the governess role like never before, the children are awful, the parents even more, but Agnes doesn't have one ounce of attitude, nothing, she just stays there, for a character that should be the main one, that says a lot. Anyways, it was a good read of the classics.
