The 217 meter high village Capalbio offers the visitor a view of rare beauty. Important archaeological finds testify human settlements already in ancient times but only in the Middle Ages Capalbio played an important role. First a property of the powerful Aldobrandeschi family, in later years the place fell into the hands of the Counts Orsini before it was subjected by the Republic of Siena in 1416. At the end of the nineteenth century Capalbio acquired notoriety as a refuge for the bandit Tiburcio Domenico but today, as the home of the short film festival "Cinema Capalbio", this charming Tuscan village looks forward to a more peaceful future.

Our tour in Capalbio shows you the town gate (Porta Senese), the former Aldobrandeschi fortress, the Collacchioni palace, the San Nicola church and the well-preserved ramparts.
