Dragon's Breath - The best Dragon game ever? Amiga playable on PC and MAC!


When I was but a we'lad I played in my opinion one of the best ever games ever to grace a computer; a game whereby you could not only control Dragons, but you could breed them AND use Alchemy to either improve or if failure, make them sick before the battle ahead. It just had to be the ultimate Dragon game, Dragon's Breath AKA Dragon Lord by Palace Software, LTD and Spotlight Software in 1990. Which has also been unofficially made available via GamesNostalgia as a freely launchable exe file for PC and Mac.

AkReal v8.8 - Unofficial conversion of a great OS, optimised for real Amiga AGA!


Throughout the years many of us have either stuck to a lovely plain blue Amiga based OS or a fully featured Bloodwych installed ClassicWB. But now thanks to Retrofan, there's another OS you might want to install and that's the latest release of AkReal Version 8.8. This latest software is an unofficial conversion of AmiKit, the high-end distribution of the best classic Amiga software, which has been optimised for real Amiga's with AGA.

Max Knight - A brand new 2D platformer appears on the Amiga!


At the end of last year towards Christmas time, Pixel Nation released the homebrew platformer of ' Max Knight Xmas ' as a festive teaser for the upcoming full Amiga game that was due to be released this year. Well you'll be pleased to know Pixel Nation has been true to their word and as of today the full version of ' Max Knight ' is available for all to download and play on an Amiga in both ADF or HD format.

Arctic Moves - Gun blasting platformer from the Atari ST gets an Amiga port!


It's once again back to writing and it's a bit of a special one for this evening, as our good friend DamienD has recently contacted us through the Amiga forums of a new-ish release that has appeared on the Amiga as a port from the Atari ST by meynaf. This is ' Arctic Moves ', the sequel to Dinamic's very addictive yet incredibly difficult action platformer Navy Moves which first appeared in 1989

Tales of Gorluth II - Amiga 68k Action RPG sequel gets a new trailer


AMIworx are back in the news again as they have informed the Amiga community of a brand new trailer for their Action RPG game 'Tales of Gorluth II', which is a sequel to the best Amiga RPG of 2014. It's also thanks to the Amiga community the sequel came to light, as after 200 pre-orders were reached, the developers realised this game had to happen, but far more improved than its predecessor.

RetroKomp/LoadError Party 2017 - An updated invitation to a great event


Every year we mention all the games and scene demos that come out from the RetroKomp & LoadError event which is held in Europe by the RK/LE Team. For example these last few years a number of games were made available that didn't just appear on the Amiga but also the Sega Megadrive. Games such as Blazing Guns, VilQ, Tanks Furry, Bridge Strike and even Trionoids . So you can probably see I can't wait to see what comes out from the RetroKomp & LoadError Party 2017 event, which will be held in Gdansk, Poland on 20-22.10.2017

RESHOOT R - Richard Löwenstein's new Amiga game has been announced


Another new game in dev announcement as Richard Löwenstein. the same developer behind the commercial Shoot em up on the Amiga called ' Reshoot ', has announced another Shoot em up coming in 2017 for the same system as 'RESHOOT R'. Coded in pure assembler language, RESHOOT R will almost follow the same game style as the first game but be louder, more colourful, more playable, and more speculator.

WinUAE 3.4.1 Beta 1 - The best Amiga emulator gets a big changelog update!


The latest Amiga news to begin the week, as Toni Wilen has once again announced a new Amiga emulator beta as ' WinUAE 3.4.1 Beta 1', which has a ton of fixes and improvements over from WinUAE 3.4.0 released at the end of last year as a Christmas special. This new version which is sure to be updated throughout the year, has a big list of changes such as fixed crash when sound card audio play, implemented accurate 68020+ T0 trace mode emulation and even quickstart Blizzard modes. Amiga CD 32 Batman Tribute - I'm BATMAAAAAAAAN on the Amiga CD32


In 1989 gamers from the around the world had the pleasure of playing Ocean Software's action based game 'Batman ' The Movie ', which is based on the 1989 film of the same name and released on the Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Apple II, Atari ST, C64, MS-DOS and even the ZX Spectrum. It is such a well known game that it has lived on in the hearts of many, and as such has re-appeared today but this time as a simulation Amiga CD32 Batman Tribute.

AmiGameJam 2016 - Amiga competition entries ready for your enjoyment


Only just last week we gave you the heads up for the latest Amiga Game Jam which was launched late last year much to the excitement of the Amiga community. We told you of two games 'Brus Lii' & 'The Last Star Fighter' that were announced for the competition, which was an early tease to a great Game Jam, in which creators from around the world came together to make a game in a theme set by the competition organisers. Well today as a new start to the week, more games have been announced and what's more, they are also downloadable!

Moonstone Preview V2 - C64 preview of an Amiga hack and slasher classic


If you've got an Amiga and a C64 or just remember playing both of them through the years, then this piece of news is sure to blow your mind! As the 1991 Amiga Mindscape classic ' Moonstone : A Hard Days Knight ' has been teased on the C64 as a preview. Titled as ' Moonstone Preview V2 +D ' and made available by Onslaught, this is a very early dev port of the most incredible and gorish Amiga hack and slasher/beat em up game of its time.

AmiGameJam 2016 - Brus Lii & The Last Star Fighter as new Amiga games teased!


Throughout the years we've had a number of Game Jam's in which creators from around the world come together to make a game in a theme set by the competition organisers. And so at the tail end of last year and into Jan 2017 it was the Amiga's time to shine, as the latest AmiGameJam was announced bringing Amiga devs together to create hopefully top-notch games for the community to enjoy, especially with this latest theme of ' TV Shows and Movies '. Furthermore they can use game creation software such as SEUCK or Backbone.

Boxx Trilogy CD32/SX32 - Lemming880's Boxx bonanza on the Amiga CD32


As an Amiga owner and a fan of homebrew releases I was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable Lemming880's platformer ' Boxx 2 ' and ' Boxx 3 ' was on the Amiga system, especially with added bright and bold colourful detail. Both of these games were developed using backbone and required you the player to collect as many coins as possible, avoid deadly traps, kill bad bosses and finally reach the exit to complete the level. But today's news is a Boxx bonanza, as Cobe, Earok and of course the all important Lemming880, have released the Boxx Trilogy for the CD32/SX32.

Graftgold : The Complete Amiga Works - A top notch unofficial Amiga CD32 release!


Well that's enough of the C64 for the time being, as we now look towards the Amiga CD32 for our news with a rather special release from Amiga Jay ' Graftgold : The Complete Amiga Works '. Announced earlier today, this is a fully packed CD of many of Graftgold's most popular games, an independent game developer that began in the 1980s, producing and publishing a number of computer games on a variety of 8-bit, 16-bit and 32-bit platforms.

FS-UAE 2.8.3 - An Amiga Emulator with a great GUI gets a new update for 2017


Karsten Majok from the Commodore Amiga Facebook group has just informed us of the release of 'FS-UAE 2.8.3', which is an update to one of the best Amiga Emulators with a full GUI that you can use for Amiga based gaming. As we said before FS-UAE at its core it uses WinUAE, but with a fantastic GUI and the brilliant Open Amiga Game Database and FS-UAE Arcade! What that means is, if you have the Amiga emulator frontend FS-UAE installed and all the Amiga game files : floppy images, CD images and WHDLoad games (.adf, .ipf, .zip, .rar, .iso, etc), you'll be able to use the latest configuration settings listed in a lovely arcade info display!

Boxx 3 - A brand new colourful platformer for the Amiga


It's time to put the Intellision and Vectrex aside and look towards another retro system, as earlier today Lemming880 released his latest Backbone platformer ' Boxx 3 ' for the Commodore Amiga. In this colourful game you play as a green guy who has to collect all the coins, avoid deadly traps, kill nasties and jump from platform to platform to reach the end exit. Once he's done all that, it's a level complete and it's on to the next ever harder stage.

Remute's Retrofuturism Flashback Bundle Part 2 features C64 and Amiga fun


Remute has just contacted us about a rather nice retro bundle that has recently appeared via Groupee's. This bundle of goodness doesn't just appreciate the C64, but there is also a rather gory game via Steam that had its roots on the Commodore Amiga. This is the Remute's Retrofuturism Flashback Bundle Part 2, a fully packed retro and indie bundle priced at just $2.50.

EgoWings - An Amiga shoot em up featured again in updated footage


In November of last year we gave you the heads up of a new shoot em up in development by Javier Alcaniz with music by Carlos Del Alamo, that featured multiple waves of ships to destroy, land based objects to blow up with big explosions, and dark lifeless landscapes. Well that same game which has been in development for the last few years has been teased again but this time with better animation and also in game music.

Bridge Strike - Modern 'River Raid' on the Amiga gets new screenshots


Only days ago from the creators of Tanks Furry , Project R3D released a teaser for their in development Amiga game ' Bridge Strike ', which had a backers winter demo along side the announced AmiGameJam. But today the developers have given us a further update, as not only is the game now classed as a modern version of Activision's River Raid , but they have also released a number of screenshots, extra game info and the system requirements.

Bridge Strike - Winter Demo teased for the Amiga of an in dev shooter


Project R3D 2016/17 are back in the news again as they have launched a brand new teaser trailer for their upcoming Winter Demo from a top down scrolling shooter known as ' Bridge Strike '. Developed by the same team behind the excellent game Tanks Furry, the latest update of Bridge Strike has been announced along side AmiGameJam and will be made available at some point soon. It will feature high quality graphics, weather effects, enemies to destroy such as blimps, refuelling and will have a modern look to that of the classic game ' River Raid '.
