Bunny's Boing Ball Bounty - Bunny hopping boing ball fun for the Commodore Amiga by RobSmithDev and Virgill

Looking to play a charming and family friendly game for Easter, then this game by RobSmithDev and Virgill might just the game for you! It's 'Bunny's Boing Ball Bounty' for the Commodore Amiga. A game in which playing as a cute Bunny, you must collect all the Eggs as fast as possible on a rotating Amiga Boing Ball! Night Mission Pinball Extended - 1983 pinball game by Sublogic gets an overhaul on the C64 by Extend!

Bit of a late story this one, but well worth a mention! As we've just found out looking through the CSdb website, that Extend has released an overhauled Commodore 64 version of the 1982/3 game Night Mission Pinball. A game that was originally released for the Apple II, Atari 8-bit, IBM PC and yes even the Commodore 64. To coincide with this news, we've got some footage of the game showing the new loader, graphics and so much more!

Sega Master System 'Vigilante' is still coming to the Commodore Amiga via Neeso Games

While many of you are still waiting for Neeso Games Arcade platformer of 'Super Delivery Boy': A game which is due for release at some point in the near future. There's another game you should be keep an eye on as developments progress, and that's Vigilante: A game that was released sometime back as a naff port to the Commodore Amiga. Which is now getting a new port by Neeso Games from the Sega Master System! As in the words of the creator from the first announcement "I prefer this over the arcade version (at least visually). Also the arcade port is already on Amiga and sucks pretty bad" 

JetHuntERS - An Amiga preview of a new arcade shoot 'em up by Coagulus

Thanks to another heads up from Saberman,  he has told us that Coagulus has made available an early build preview of his/her work in progress Shoot-em-up for the Amiga called 'JetHuntERS'. A game that the developer says isn't just a sequel to JetHunt, but also a partial tribute to the game Zybex which came out on 8-bit computers in the 1980's. To coincide with this news, we've got some new footage of the game as well as some further info posted via the EAB forums below.

Popeye VBXE - An arcade port, but this time for the Atari XL/XE with VBXE! (RC1)

Now here's a blast from the past, as we've just been informed by Liqmatrix, that the classic Arcade game of 'Popeye', has been released as an RC1 build for the Atari XL/XE with a VBXE as an Arcade conversion by woj. In a similar vein to Donkey Kong albeit not as good, you play as Popeye and must collect hearts, musical notes and the letters H-E-L-P that the lovable character Olive drops from the top of the screen. But be warned, just like the cartoon, Brutus will get in your way with the help of the bad Sea Hag!

Heads up NES gamers! Sam's Journey by Knights of Bytes is now available for the NES

When Knights of Bytes released Sam's Journey for the Commodore 64 back in 2017 it was a huge hit! Indie Retro News awarded Sam's Journey game of the year 2017 as this game really surpassed all our expectations, delivering us a huge epic adventure that really pushed the limitations of the C64. Well it's the NES's turn to be a part of this incredible gaming experience, as we have been informed by Knights of Bytes, that this amazing game originally for the C64, is now available for the NES!

Upcoming Chaos Engine for the C64 gets its second downloadable preview!

Chaos Engine from 1993 was an incredible game developed by the very famous Bitmap Brothers. A game that featured one or two players battling it out as a top down shooter genre against the evil creations of the titular Chaos Engine through four landscapes and a very decent set of weaponry! Well if you remember this fantastic game on the Amiga, Marvin Hardy has not only released the second preview of the game(lots of bugs), but you can see the game being played in this footage provided by Saberman. 

Hair Trigger - Mr Hair is back with a new ZX Spectrum game demo from MicroChops!

New homebrews for the Amstrad and C64, so what's next? Well it's the ZX Spectrum's turn for a new game! As MicroChops has released a demo for the arcade blaster of 'Hair Trigger'. An upcoming game in which you must fly through dangerous zones to disable the planet's power reactors before they release deadly fumes killing everyone. To coincide with this news, if you enjoyed games such as The Hair-Raising Adventures of Mr Hair, or Mr Hair and the Kitty Katakombs, then you may just like this new game which is featured in the video below.

Oh Chute! - A new Amstrad Plus and GX4000 game that's well worth a download

It's the Amstrad CPC's turn to have some retro gaming goodness. As if you enjoyed playing games such as such as Foggy's Quest for the Amstrad CPC and GX4000, or Prospector 2024. Then you may just enjoy Cwiiis's latest Amstrad Plus and GX4000 game of 'Oh Chute! A highly entertaining Arcade game in which you need to parachute and land without being hit by the helicopters. Tetris for the Atari 8-Bit by Eric Carr entered into the BASIC 10Liner Contest 2024

Another Tetris game has appeared that's worthy of a mention on Indie Retro News, as we were recently informed through Facebook, that Eric Carr has released the FastBasic 4.6 programmed Atari XL/XE game of 'Tetris'. A clone of the NES version which was entered into the BASIC 10Liner Contest 2024 under the EXTREM-256 category. To coincide with this news, Saberman has provided a video showing the game being played.

Spediteur - A turn based business simulator released for the Commodore 64

Most of the games we feature are either platformers or shoot em ups, but today's news is something completely different, as Saberman has informed us that WindigoProductions has released the board game styled turn based business simulator of Spediteur for the Commodore 64. A game which features not just four competing players, but challenging computer opponents, 5 unique maps, different difficulty levels, and is PAL/NTSC compatible. Hermanos - An entertaining platform puzzler from D.Rejment for the C64

A new Commodore 64 homebrew has surfaced which may appeal to those of you who like a challenge, as D.Rejment has released the Commodore 64 game of 'Hermanos'. A game in which the creator says you have to guide Hermanos through 20 levels and collect the gold scattered around each of the many levels found in the game. To coincide with this news story, Saberman has provided a video of the game which can be viewed below.

Crater Song - A short, single-player co-op adventure puzzler for the NES by John Vanderhoef

If you're looking for a new NES game to try and want one to satisfy your retro gaming needs, then make sure to check out John Vanderhoef's latest game of 'Crater Song'. A game in which the creator describes as a short, single-player co-op adventure puzzler that is inspired by the game Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. THE MANDARIN 2 - A new Star Wars action game now for the Gameboy Advanced and MSX by Mananuk

If you have a Gameboy Advanced or MSX and didn't get the chance to enjoy the previously released Amstrad CPC version of the game, then it might be worth checking out Mananuk's new game of ' The Mandarin 2 ' for the Gameboy Advanced and MSX; A game that not only features 5 levels of varying themes such as General Limoncello´s base, self-destruct activated, outer space and Limoncello's ship, but also different enemy types and challenges. Classic NES game 'Duck Hunt' unofficially released on the Commodore Amiga, gets a new update


If you've ever had a Nintendo and a Light Gun, then chances are that you would've played the 1984/95 NES game of 'Duck Hunt': A game in which players fired a NES Zapper at a CRT television, with three attempts per round to shoot ducks and clay pigeons. Well if you remember our previous announcement  that marggines unofficially released the classic NES game of ' Duck Hunt ' over to the Commodore Amiga, then as of today you can play the 1.2 update which is featured in Saberman's latest video below.

Toki C64 Remastered gets new footage and it looks AWESOME

Toki was an awesome arcade shooter platformer that was released way back in 1989 by a designer by the name of Akira Sakuma for many different systems such as the NES, Sega Mega Drive, Atari Lynx, Atari ST, Amiga and Commodore 64. In it you played as an enhanced Ape transformed from a Human that could shoot energy balls from his mouth defeating strange creatures and finally an evil Wizard. Well If you remember this truly great game, you'll be pleased to know that at some point in the near future, you'll be able to play a remastered version which is still in development for the C64!

Saboteur 2 - An enhanced 48k mod by thealfest for the ZX Spectrum!

Now here's a blast from the past and a game that I remember as being one of the best action-adventure games I had ever played on the Amstrad CPC 464. It's 'Saboteur II' developed by Clive Townsend and released by Durell Software in 1987, the same publishers behind the incredible dragon flying 'Thanatos'. This fine game was released for many platforms such as the CPC, ZX Spectrum and C64, and featured a female protagonist who must break into a high-security compound, fight off guards, avoid pumas and alter the course of a nuclear ballistic missile and then escape on a motorbike. 

The Great Giana Sisters arrives on the Commodore Plus/4 and it looks fab!

Many of you already know of this game especially Amiga and C64 owners as this game has huge similarities to Super Mario and as such way back in the 80's also had an alleged lawsuit case against them from Nintendo. In fact during the last number of years, there wasn't just a Giana Special Edition by Reimagine Games and then of course the Great Giana-Sisters Construction-Set, but we also had a 30th anniversary version for the C64 by The-Seven-A-Three in celebration of this rather famous game. So why are we writing about this game again? Well you'll be pleased to know that as of today, TCFS together with Csabo and Unreal, has released The Great Giana Sisters for the Commodore Plus/4!

Pang+ - An enhanced version of a brilliant Arcade game for the Amstrad Plus and GX4000!

In 1989 the Mitchell Corporation released the top of its class Arcade game ' Pang ', which was later ported over to a multitude of systems by Ocean including the C64, Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum Amiga, MS-DOS and Atari ST. In this up to two player game you had to destroy bouncing balloons terrorizing global landscapes, but had to be really careful as most of them when shot split off into smaller but even more balloons! Now thanks to SyX and RedAngel, an enhanced version of this classic game, has been released for the Amstrad CPC Plus and GX4000!

Kommando Urbex - Another Amstrad CPC game release by Altanerus Dog

Thanks to another heads up by both XeNoMoRPH and Saberman, we've been told that Altanerus Dog has released a new Amstrad CPC Adventure game of 'Kommando Urbex'. A game in which you must not only explore an old agricultural complex from the 17th century to investigate strange events, but you must find out what has happened to two other colleagues that have disappeared. In light of this news that was sent to us just moments ago, we have some new footage of the game which as ever can be viewed further down the page.
