Media Preparator, ProfiClave PC20B Series

The ProfiClave PC20, by Biotool, is a fully automated benchtop agar/media steriliser designed for the rapid processing of up to 16 litres of ready-to-dispense agar- or nutrient-medium. It is equipped with intuitive software accessible via touchscreen, providing access to 20 user-programmable settings. These settings accommodate various operational modes, such as single or double heating cycles, autoclave, and water bath modes.

The unit features time delay and temperature timer functions to schedule agar pouring operations efficiently at the beginning of the work. This feature, along with the rapid cool-down capability, enhances productivity and provides convenience. The front panel of the ProfiClave PC20 includes all control functions and parameter printouts with an integrated mini SD card, and it comes complete with a stainless steel cuvette. The unit is equipped with a built-in pressure pump to prevent flash boiling, an extra-strong magnetic stirrer, and a sterile filter for pressurisation, which allows for easy vessel access without the need for bolts or tools.

A unique feature of the ProfiClave PC20 is the pressure correction system, which adjusts the boiling point according to the ambient pressure, thereby optimising de-aeration. With this technology, 16 litres of agar can be prepared for pouring in just 60 to 90 minutes. When used in conjunction with a Biotool PetriSwiss dish filling system, the PC20 model provides a complete and convenient solution for media preparation.
