New government, same fight to end the import of hunting trophies in Italy! In the first session of the new Italian Parliament on October 13, MP Michela Vittoria Brambilla introduced a bill calling for a ban on the import and export to and from Italy of hunting trophies from animals protected under the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES). After the presentation of a bill with the same tenor in 2021, which we brought forward together with some deputies of the 5 Star Movement, and lapsed with the premature end of the last legislature, Hon. Brambilla has picked up the baton and put this battle back on the agenda, thanks also to the positive signals coming from Brussels, where, recently, the European Parliament passed a resolution calling for an EU-wide ban on the import of hunting trophies of species protected by CITES. Would you help us urge the EU to put an end to this cruel and anachronistic practice and save endangered animals?
