The transplant nurses at the Allgemeine Krankenhaus (AKH) in Vienna, Austria, where I underwent a life-changing double lung transplant in 2002, not only provided unparalleled medical care but also demonstrated exceptional warmth, kindness, and compassion. Their unwavering support was instrumental in my recovery journey. Today, I wish to extend my heartfelt tribute to these remarkable nurses, as well as to all the dedicated healthcare professionals who stand by our side during what may be the most challenging moments of our lives. #transplantnursesweek #ESOT_ETHAP ESOT - European Society for Organ Transplantation #lungtransplant #pulmonaryhypertension #organtransplant

For those like myself who spent a very long and difficult time in the ICU (after my double lung transplant in 2002) this is absolutely wonderful! I wish it had existed at the time. A fantastic technology that can drastically improve the hospital experience, alleviate some of the mental health issues that are quite common in ICU settings, and contribute to overall recovery.
🌟 ICU Patients Find Healing and Joy Through Virtual Reality-Powered Vacations and Exercise 🏥💪 🤒 ICU patients are experiencing a revolutionary boost in their well-being through a unique combination of Virtual Reality (VR) and exercise. 🏥🏋️♀️ By wearing a special VR headset, patients embark on virtual vacations while engaging in personalized exercise routines. This innovative approach not only offers a mental escape from the hospital environment but also promotes physical activity tailored to their health needs. 🌴💪 This powerful blend of technology and exercise not only improves the hospital experience but also contributes to overall recovery.
